Maintenance Planning & Work Control in Oil & Gas Ports and Terminals

This intensive training course addresses the unique reliability and operational challenges in Oil & Gas Ports and Terminals. Facilities operating under extreme conditions and stringent safety regulations require specialized maintenance strategies where failure of critical assets can lead to catastrophic downtime and environmental risk.

Participants will explore failure and degradation characteristics of terminal assets, utilize criticality matrices to prioritize work, and integrate the Asset Healthcare Model with Work Breakdown Structures to transform raw asset data into actionable maintenance strategies.

Daily Agenda

Day 1 — Fundamentals of Maintenance Planning: The contribution of maintenance to the business, criticality grading, failure modes and effects analysis, programmed task selection criteria & tools, CMMS task plans & work orders, corrective maintenance task procedures, spares & materials planning.

Day 2 — Planned Work Scheduling and Control: Work management process model, defect reporting and notifications, backlog control, capacity planning and resourcing, schedule with consensus of stakeholders, major maintenance event scheduling.

Day 3 — Performance Management & Improvement: Work management performance indicators, asset maintenance effectiveness indicators, cost control performance indicators, planning performance indicators, continuous improvement in maintenance and operations.
